In this tutorial, we will show you how to create a repository in GitHub. but first what is a repository? A repository contains all of your project’s files You can own repositories that can be owned by you or shared with your team members.

Pre-Requisite:

  1. Sign up to create GitHub account

Steps

  1. Log in your GitHub Account

  1. Click on + icon next to your profile picture at the top right corner of the window, then select New repository. as in the following screen:

  1. Fill in the repository name, repository description, the repository visibility either public or private, then press on Create repository

you can initialze the repository with README file where you add a description of your project, and .ignore where you put the files that you don’t want to be tracked.

  1. Finally, your repository is now created, and will be displayed to you as in the following screen:
